Heavy Is the Crown: The Immune System
Endless now has an immune system that hunts down whoever climbs to first place. Here's what happens when the warning appears, and how to fight back.

The world has begun to watch you
Grow big in Endless and climb to first place, and the warning "The world has begun to watch you" appears. Before long, cream-colored immune cells show up to chase the top player. The stronger the top player gets, the more ominous the warnings and the more varied the immune cells that come calling.
Seven kinds of immune cells
- A giant cell that devours basic cells
- A cell that lays down slowing patches
- A cell that keeps spawning small cells
- A cell that chases you relentlessly
- A trio that closes in together and explodes
- A cell that splits into many
- A cell that charges in a straight line

When the hunt ends
Defeat every immune cell or hold out long enough and the hunt ends. If the hunted top player falls, the immune cells pull out, and if first place changes mid-hunt, they chase the new leader.
Whether you're hunted or watching
If you're the top player being hunted, pick them off one at a time from a spot where your swarm fights well. For everyone else, it's both an opportunity and a trap. Defeating immune cells earns you nutrients, but attack the ones chasing someone else and they'll strike back.
Climb to the top, and take on the world.
What changed in v0.9.0
New
- Immune system: in Endless, when a high-level player takes first place, the immune system starts watching. After a warning, immune cells appear and chase the top player for a while
- Immune cells: a giant cell that eats basic cells, a cell that lays down slowing patches, a cell that keeps producing small cells and a cell that chases relentlessly. The higher the top player's level, the more kinds come together
- Defeating immune cells drops nutrients and delays the next hunt. The longer you hold first place and the more players you take down, the sooner the next hunt comes
- Attacking immune cells that are chasing another player gets you briefly counterattacked
Improvements
- Your nucleus now wriggles like an amoeba, stretching and squeezing as it moves
- Basic cells now crawl along and attack by stretching out for a headbutt
- Basic cells spread evenly around your nucleus and each moves a little differently, so they look like a living swarm. When you rally, they gather neatly instead of piling up
- Polished the Endless results screen and other screens
Balance
- Basic cells now split up to rush different nearby enemies, so front lines form when swarms clash
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Wall Cells being dragged by river currents or Gravity Cells while their wall was up
