v0.11 Arena
v0.11.5Latest
Combat now hits with real weight, and the results screens have a new look. You can also save your result as an image card to show off.
New
- Combat impact: cells that take a hit flash white and flinch, and the health bar holds the lost chunk for a moment before it drains. Big hits shake the screen, fallen cells leave a mark, and basic cells’ attacks now land with a thud
- Result card: press "Brag about it" on a results screen to save or share an image of your cell and your result
- Update news: articles that show off big updates with pictures and videos are now on the patch notes page
Improvements
- The results screens have a new look. In Endless your cell breathes at the center and you can see how close this run came to your best, and Battle Royale, Arena and Hive Break match the new style
- The title screen now plays a real match in the background, with swarms gathering nutrients and clashing
- Cells have more depth and tiny specks drift across the battlefield. On slower devices, effects scale down on their own to keep things smooth
- Small text is set in an easier-to-read font, and text is bigger across the shop, Collection, profile and more, as well as on the game’s About page
Balance
- Gravity Cell’s pull on enemies has been increased
Bug Fixes
- Fixed your nucleus looking unaffected while standing still in an enemy gravity field, then suddenly jumping
v0.11.4
Hive Break gets a clearer look with a new top bar, and Patch Notes now show how the game has changed so far.
New
- Hive Break top bar: see both teams' kills, colony status, hive HP and the match clock at a glance. A lock shows when the hive can't be hit because its colonies still stand
- Patch Notes: see what changed in every version from the bottom of the lobby
- New version alerts: when the game updates, a notice pops up so one reload gets you back in on the latest version
Improvements
- Starting Hive Break on your own now matches you right away, without picking a team size. Opening an invite link takes you straight into that room
- Colonies have a new look, and colony and hive shots now deal damage when they land, so you can see why things go down
- Hives and colonies are now solid, so bodies can't pass through them
- When both hives fall at the same moment, the match ends in a draw
- Players in the same match get colors that are easier to tell apart
- The Arena runs lighter and smoother
Balance
- Colonies and hives hit harder the longer they keep firing, and return to normal after a short pause
- Hive bombardment now targets players and special cells first
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where losing connection just before a Hive Break match lost your seat
- Fixed an issue where on-screen information overlapped while spectating
- Fixed an issue where a "Find new match" button appeared on the custom room Battle Royale results screen
- Fixed an issue where kill messages named the wrong attacker
v0.11.3
Arena duels get unpredictable twists, and cancer cores have started fighting back.
New
- Arena duel twists: during a 1v1 duel, a cancer nest, a cancer pack or nutrient rain appears. Alerts and floor markings warn you before it arrives
- Off-screen threat alerts: when a nest or pack appears out of view, markers at the screen edge and around your nucleus show its direction and the time left
- Elimination alerts: when another player is eliminated, you can see it right away on the leaderboard
Improvements
- Cancer cores fight back: as their HP drops, they burrow underground and rise up elsewhere, summoning more cancer cells each time
- Round 1's Cancer sweep now adds cancer packs swarming in from the edges
- Once your elimination is certain, your placement and reward are set right away, so you can leave without waiting
- If both nuclei fall at once in a 1v1 duel, the winner is decided by remaining HP and swarm
- The screen tints as the safe zone closes in, so sudden death is clear at a glance
- When spectating, you can see cells hiding in thickets too
- HP bars have new colors: lime for you and your team, and pink for opponents
Balance
- Arena cancer core HP slightly increased
- Arena Round 1 cancer cell HP and damage increased
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the next phase opening in Arena before the round result was shown
- Fixed new rounds showing the previous round's terrain on slow connections
v0.11.2
The custom room screen on PC has been redesigned for wide screens, and several custom room issues have been fixed.
Improvements
- PC custom room screen: the room fills the screen, shows the selected mode in a large banner, and lays out player cards side by side in several columns
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the results window reopening when returning to the room lobby after a Battle Royale or Arena match in a custom room
- Fixed the fourth mode button being hidden behind the buttons below it in custom rooms in phone landscape
v0.11.1
The loading screen now has a progress bar, and losing points or being eliminated in Arena is clearer.
Improvements
- Loading screen: a spinning cell and a progress bar show how much has loaded
- The "Enter Battle" button in the Pick a Battlefield window is now always visible, whatever your screen size
- Arena points drop: when you lose points, you see them chipped away from your starting points for the round, with sound effects. Lose them all and your points burst as an "OUT" stamp lands
- About and Contact links have been added at the bottom of the lobby
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Acid Cell acid pools dealing damage over a much wider area than they appeared to cover
v0.11.0
Arena is here, a new mode where 8 players face changing opponents in 1v1 battles.
New
- Arena: a new mode where 8 players face a different opponent each round in 1v1 battles. The last one standing wins
- Points and elimination: everyone starts with the same points, loses points for losing a duel, and is out once they're all gone. You lose more as the rounds go on and the bigger the defeat
- Growth: earn XP every round, and win to also harvest the nutrients spilled across your zone and grow faster. Special cells are picked between rounds, not mid-fight
- Bonus draft: starting with the lowest-scoring player, touch a special cell capsule on the spinning central plate to get that cell
- Matchups and spectating: between rounds, see your opponent and the other matchups, and once your duel ends, pick another duel to watch
- Placement rewards: earn coins based on your placement. Leaving mid-match forfeits the reward. Arena achievements and an Arena records tab in your profile are here too
- Custom room Arena: up to 8 players can join, and the host sets the starting points, bonus draft, pace and more
Improvements
- On the results window, your account XP bar fills up and the level badge bursts when you level up
- The Battle Royale and Arena results screens have a new phone layout for both portrait and landscape
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the app install guide appearing over the match screen or not closing
- Fixed the elimination window and defeat music appearing when joining a custom room Battle Royale as a spectator
- Fixed your nucleus position drifting when moving along walls or bridge rails
v0.10 Coins and Skin Shop
v0.10.6
Profile icons have arrived, ready to buy with coins in the shop or earn by raising special cell mastery.
New
- Profile icons: pick your icon under "Change icon" in your profile. The 4 starter icons are available from the start, and one of them, "My favorite cell", takes the look of the cell you love most
- 7 shop icons: Nutrient Snack, Little Floaters, Squishy Bloom, Room for One More, Warm Little Seed, Jelly Trio and Little Swarm
- Mastery rewards: for all 30 special cells, raise a cell's mastery to get its icon, and raise it even higher for a special icon
- In your Collection's "Profile icons", see how to get each icon and claim your rewards. A notification dot appears when you have a reward to claim. You can also preview mastery rewards in the Cell Codex
Improvements
- Polished screens throughout, such as the danger warning fading out smoothly as you recover HP
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the account level-up badge on the results window popping up again and again
- Fixed defeat music playing again when a match ended while you were spectating after being knocked out of Battle Royale
v0.10.5
Combat feels punchier, wins and losses land harder, and the results window shows your account XP.
New
- Match end effects: when a Battle Royale or Hive Break match is decided, a "Victory!" or "Defeated" stamp lands and the results window opens with results music. The moment a hive falls plays in slow motion for extra drama
- Kill confirmation: when you take down an enemy nucleus, a gold ring tightens on the spot and the screen freezes for an instant
- Danger warning: the edges of the screen flash red when you take heavy damage, and pulse red when your nucleus is low on HP
- Zone exit warning: if you leave the safe area in Battle Royale or during Cluster Zone Shrink in Endless, the screen edges tint and an arrow points back inside
- Account XP: the results window shows the account XP you earned this match. Back in the lobby, your new coins and XP fill up, and celebration effects burst when you level up
- Spatial sound: battle sound effects come from the left or right depending on where they happen on screen, and get quieter with distance
Improvements
- The death window now shows who took you down
- The rally button responds the instant you press it, and the mobile joystick stops you in place when you bring your thumb back to the center
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Endless kill records showing in place of Battle Royale and Hive Break records
- Fixed Endless event music cutting off right after the warning
- Fixed rally turning on or off by itself on mobile when a notification or call interrupted your touch
v0.10.4
A cell curtain now sweeps in and out between screens, and popups and notices have a new look.
New
- Screen transitions: when the screen changes, a curtain of hexagonal cells closes and opens with sound effects. When you enter a battle, each mode shows its own color and emblem
- Purchase celebration: buying an item in the shop sets off a golden hexagonal shockwave, then reveals what you bought step by step
Improvements
- Popups open and close smoothly, and their borders have a matching new look
- When the shop fails to load or you can't join a room, a notice with art lets you know, and you can retry or return to the lobby
- If your profile has no records yet, it shows a tip with a "Pick a Battlefield" button
- Polished the disconnect notice, the Cell Codex close button and other screens
v0.10.3
A new purchase complete screen has been added, and disconnect notices now come with new art.
New
- Purchase complete screen: after buying an item in the shop, apply it right away or keep browsing
Improvements
- When you're disconnected or the game is under maintenance, a notice with new art lets you know, and shows whether it's reconnecting
- Items you own appear first in your Collection, and items you don't own yet appear first in the shop
- The tutorial complete screen and the Collection screen have been refreshed
Bug Fixes
- Fixed cells showing outside the petri dish in Collection and shop previews
v0.10.2
The Back button now works naturally, and the shop and skins look cleaner.
Improvements
- Back button: pressing Back on your phone or browser closes the open window, and opens the pause menu during a match. On the title screen, it asks whether you want to quit the game
- Tap your cell in the middle of the lobby to open the skin list in your Collection
- Your equipped skin now shows in the tutorial too
- You can retry when the shop fails to load, and on PC you can drag the product list to scroll through it
- Skin patterns and lobby screens have been polished to look cleaner
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the game suddenly closing when pressing Back several times
- Fixed skin preview images disappearing in the shop and Collection
v0.10.1
Lobby skins that change your lobby backdrop and 6 new player skins have been added.
New
- Lobby skins: change the backdrop where your cell hangs out in the lobby. Choose the default Laboratory or Woodland Stream from the shop
- 6 new player skins: Lava Rock, Salmon Slice, Toadstool Spots, Bandage, Paint Splash and Hazard Stripes
- Collect every item of one kind in the shop to see a celebration screen
Improvements
- The special cell picker has a new look
- The shop, Collection and profile screens are easier to use on phones
Bug Fixes
- Fixed immune cells in Endless appearing in the wrong place or some of them lagging behind
- Fixed the profile screen scrolling back to the top while you were viewing it
v0.10.0
Earn coins by playing matches, and dress up your cell with skins from the shop.
New
- Coins: earn coins when you finish an Endless, Battle Royale or Hive Break match. The longer you survive, the higher you level and the more you take down, the more you earn. Winning in Battle Royale or Hive Break also gives a bonus. Check your coins on the results screen
- Achievement rewards: complete each mode's achievements in your profile to earn coins. Your past records count toward achievement progress too
- Shop: spend your coins on player skins. They only change your look and have no effect on combat
- 10 player skins: Sunny-side up, Kiwi Slice, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Asteroid, Cow Print, Vinyl Record, Watermelon Bite, Tiger Stripes, Cheese Slice and 8 Ball
- Collection: equip the skins you own and preview them in different ways. Other players can see your equipped skin too
Improvements
- Check your coins at the top right of the lobby
- The profile screen has a new look, with a button for changing your nickname
v0.9 Immune System
v0.9.10
Updates apply more reliably, and you can open the settings from the title screen too.
Improvements
- You can now open the settings from the title screen too
- The game opens faster after an update
- If the game fails to load, a notice appears with a "Retry" button
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the screen looking broken after an update
- Fixed the lobby's bottom menu covering the start button on short screens
v0.9.9
A title screen has been added, loading is lighter, and movement is smoother.
New
- Title screen: set your nickname and press "Connect" to enter the lobby. Your cell floats in the middle of the lobby
- Nickname change: change your nickname from your profile
- After finishing the tutorial, you can jump straight into Endless, practice again or return to the lobby
Improvements
- Other players and cells move more smoothly, and the game runs more stably
- Loading is much lighter when you first start the game
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the tutorial stuttering after you visited another tab, or rushing through everything that happened while you were away all at once
- Fixed some player names not showing on slow connections
v0.9.8
A new loading screen means the lobby now opens cleanly all at once.
New
- Loading screen: when you start the game, the lobby art and music load while a bar fills up, so the lobby opens cleanly all at once. If it's your first time, you go straight into the tutorial
Improvements
- The Missions, Collection and Shop menus, still in the works, now appear dimmed
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the lobby and game screen layouts going out of place when unfolding a foldable device in Samsung Internet
v0.9.7
Mobile touch is more accurate, and the game runs much more smoothly.
Improvements
- The game runs lighter, with fewer sudden lag spikes
Balance
- Nutrient Gardens in Battle Royale and Hive Break now appear in the middle and late stages of a match
Bug Fixes
- Fixed taps on special cell cards or the rally button not registering while moving the joystick on mobile
- Fixed the screen zooming in when tapping buttons rapidly on iPhone
- Fixed the profile card level not updating right away after returning to the lobby from a match
v0.9.6
The lobby has been redesigned, and profiles, account levels and cell mastery are here.
New
- New lobby: your profile card sits at the top left and the settings button at the top right, with the Tutorial, Cells, Missions, Collection and Shop menus along the bottom. Missions, Collection and Shop are still in the works
- Profile: see your account level along with your Overview, Endless, Battle Royale and Hive Break records and achievements at a glance
- Account level: earn XP at the end of every match to level up. The more you take down, the longer you survive and the more you win, the more you earn (custom rooms and the tutorial excluded)
- Cell mastery: the more you pick a special cell, the higher its mastery climbs. Check it in the Cell Codex
Improvements
- Special cells you've never picked are hidden as silhouettes in the Cell Codex, and their info unlocks once you pick them
- Nutrient crystal landing spots now show the actual damage area from the start, and their glow grows as the crystal falls, so it's easier to tell when it will land
Balance
- Hive HP in Hive Break 2v2 and 3v3 increased
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Hive Break 1v1 opening on the wrong map, with few thickets or thickets on only one riverbank
- Fixed bridges not showing in custom room Hive Break, leaving you blocked by invisible walls
- Fixed the special cell picker following your finger while using the joystick on mobile
- Fixed the lobby start button being hidden by the menu, and the minimap overlapping the special cell list, on unfolded foldable devices like the Galaxy Z Fold
v0.9.5
You can now play with a gamepad or the arrow keys.
New
- Gamepad: move with the left stick or the D-pad, and rally with the A button (the ✕ button on PlayStation)
- Arrow key movement: move with the arrow keys as well as WASD
Improvements
- Keyboard shortcuts: press Space or Enter to respawn when you fall, and Space on the results screen to start the next match right away
Bug Fixes
- Fixed your nucleus being pushed backward when you stopped after moving
v0.9.4
Special Cell Gardens and Nutrient Gardens now appear hidden in thickets.
Improvements
- Special Cell Gardens and Nutrient Gardens now appear hidden inside thickets. You'll get an alert, but they don't show on the minimap, so go find them yourself. When the thicket withers, the garden disappears with it
Balance
- Special Cell Gardens now appear regularly in every mode, separately from Cell Gardens
- Nutrient Gardens appear more often in Endless
v0.9.3
New Special Cell Gardens and Nutrient Gardens appear, and several special cells have been rebalanced.
New
- Special Cell Garden: sometimes appears in place of a Cell Garden. It restores HP, and fallen cells come back much faster
- Nutrient Garden: stand inside to absorb nutrients quickly. It holds enough nutrients for a big level boost, and players standing in it together share them
- Nutrient Gardens appear far from the top player. They show up regularly in Endless, and occasionally in Battle Royale and Hive Break
Balance
- Acid and Escort Cell damage increased
- Disruptor, Decoy and Shell Cell HP and Protector Cell shield durability increased
- Gravity, Disruptor and Husk Cells use their abilities a little more often
- Siege Cells bombard faster, and Charge Cells recover faster after a charge
- Enemies hit by a Disruptor Cell's pulse or an Ink Cell's ink are briefly slowed
- The small cells a Mitotic Cell makes last vanish a little sooner
v0.9.2
Three new kinds of immune cells appear, and basic cells now trail behind your nucleus.
New
- Three new immune cells: a trio that approaches together, pauses, then explodes; a cell that splits into many over two stages; and a cell that sets up and charges in a straight line
Improvements
- Immune cell lineups: they come in a different mix each time. More kinds appear as the top player's level rises, and the more special cells the top player has, the more small cells tag along
- Basic cells now move as a group trailing behind your nucleus instead of surrounding it. They stay put when your nucleus moves a little, and follow once it gets farther away
- Multiple Wall Cells now raise their walls side by side instead of overlapping
Balance
- Attacking from inside a thicket now reveals you for much longer
- Wetland Overflow nutrients are far more plentiful and appear more often. Large nutrients look bigger to match
- HP of the giant immune cell that eats basic cells decreased, and the healing it gets from eating greatly decreased
- Immune cells take a little longer to return
Bug Fixes
- Fixed your cells becoming completely invisible while hiding where thickets overlapped during Wetland Overflow
v0.9.1
Nutrient crystals now aim for where you stand, and special cells you've never picked get a NEW badge.
Improvements
- Nutrient Crystal Rain: fewer crystals fall at random, and new ones now aim for where players are standing. Keep moving to dodge them
- At the end of Nutrient Crystal Rain, colossal crystals fall one after another near the center of the battlefield. A hit hurts a lot, but each one leaves a pile of nutrients where it lands
- Special cell cards now show a NEW badge on cells you've never picked
- The game runs lighter
Bug Fixes
- Fixed two background music tracks playing over each other
v0.9.0
Endless gets an immune system that hunts the top player, and cells move in a much livelier way.
New
- Immune system: in Endless, when a high-level player takes first place, the immune system starts watching. After a warning, immune cells appear and chase the top player for a while
- Immune cells: a giant cell that eats basic cells, a cell that lays down slowing patches, a cell that keeps producing small cells and a cell that chases relentlessly. The higher the top player's level, the more kinds come together
- Defeating immune cells drops nutrients and delays the next hunt. The longer you hold first place and the more players you take down, the sooner the next hunt comes
- Attacking immune cells that are chasing another player gets you briefly counterattacked
Improvements
- Your nucleus now wriggles like an amoeba, stretching and squeezing as it moves
- Basic cells now crawl along and attack by stretching out for a headbutt
- Basic cells spread evenly around your nucleus and each moves a little differently, so they look like a living swarm. When you rally, they gather neatly instead of piling up
- Polished the Endless results screen and other screens
Balance
- Basic cells now split up to rush different nearby enemies, so front lines form when swarms clash
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Wall Cells being dragged by river currents or Gravity Cells while their wall was up
v0.8 Rivers and Thickets
v0.8.1
A new Endless event, Wetland Overflow, has arrived.
New
- Wetland Overflow: in Endless, after a warning, temporary rivers flow across the battlefield and thickets grow lush for a while. Midway through, the wetland shifts to another spot once
- During Wetland Overflow, nutrients keep sprouting under the thickets and large nutrients float down the rivers. It has its own background music too
Improvements
- Big lag spikes happen less often
v0.8.0
Rivers and thickets now shape the battlefield, and the Beam Cell and Ink Cell join the roster.
New
- Rivers: rivers now run across the battlefield. Ride the current to go much faster, swim against it and you slow down, and stand still to drift along
- Thickets: step into a thicket by the river and you're hidden from outside. Attacking from inside briefly reveals your swarm
- Waterways by mode: in Endless, rivers sometimes dry up and flow again elsewhere. In Battle Royale, rivers and thickets dry up as the safe zone shrinks, and in Hive Break, you cross the central stream on bridges in each lane
- Beam Cell: it takes aim, then fires a long beam that pierces every enemy in a straight line
- Ink Cell: it throws ink bombs at ranged cells. Inked cells only notice enemies right in front of them. Purify Cells can wash the ink off
- Context tips: short tips pop up at moments when it's easy to mistake rallying for an attack command
Improvements
- The game switches to fullscreen when you enter a match. You can also choose windowed mode in the settings
- Player colors are clearer, and the results screen and the screen you see when you fall have a new look
Balance
- Wall Cell HP greatly increased, and it raises its wall faster against enemies targeting your nucleus
- Disruptor Cell HP greatly increased
- Siege Cells now also bombard enemies that come closer
- The Giant Nutrient Cell is no longer affected by debuffs like stuns or slows
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Healer Cells healing Husk Cell husks
v0.7 Lobby Makeover
v0.7.5
The Endless event Cell Regen Surge lasts longer and has more to offer.
Improvements
- Mint-colored spores rise across the battlefield during Cell Regen Surge, and the game runs smoother too
Balance
- Cell Regen Surge rework: in Endless, it now lasts longer, and you can lead more basic cells during it. Cell Gardens fill the battlefield as it starts, used ones come back quickly, and healing and basic cell spawning speed up. The extra cells stay after the event ends until they fall
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the spectate prompt flashing briefly and defeat sounds overlapping when knocked out in second place in Battle Royale
v0.7.4
See what a special cell does before you pick it, and the tutorial is friendlier.
New
- Special cell tips: hover over a choice to see what the cell does in one line. On mobile, tap once to see the tip and tap again to pick. With the 1, 2 and 3 keys, press the same key twice to pick
- During a match, the special cell panel shows how many cells you have in each role (Offense, Defense, Support, Control)
Improvements
- The tutorial now also teaches hold-to-move. On PC, hold the right mouse button or use WASD; on mobile, press and drag on the screen
- After finishing the tutorial, you go straight back to the lobby without reloading
Bug Fixes
- Fixed enemies appearing outside the battlefield in the tutorial when you were near a wall
- Fixed respawning or newly spawned cells appearing outside the boundary at the edge of the battlefield and taking damage
v0.7.3
Fewer hitches during Endless events, and a few special cell issues have been fixed.
Improvements
- The game runs lighter. Hitches when nutrients scatter or get sucked in all at once during Nutrient Current Bloom in Endless are also reduced
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the special cell count on the Endless results screen going up with every respawn
- Fixed small cells from a departed player's Mitotic Cells and husks from their Husk Cells staying frozen on the battlefield
- Fixed Forager Cells avoiding their own team in Hive Break
v0.7.2
A new results screen sums up your Endless run at a glance.
New
- Endless results screen: when you've used up all your respawns or give up, see your survival time, level, kills, XP earned and the special cells you got this run. Beat a record to get a NEW RECORD! badge, then show it off or try again right away
- Your records now include "Best XP earned"
Improvements
- Every player's nucleus now has a bright dot in the center and a soft shadow around it, so it's easy to spot among a crowd of cells
- Each cell's body color varies slightly in brightness, so you can tell them apart even when tightly packed
v0.7.1
The Endless event Hibernating Colony Emergence lets you wake sleeping cells to join your swarm, and many screens now match the new lobby.
New
- Hibernating Colony Emergence: in Endless, hibernating colonies surface across the battlefield. Stay inside one for a moment to wake its sleeping cells, and several basic cells or a special cell join your swarm. You can't attack while waking them, and if you step away, another player can steal them
Improvements
- The results screen, the screen you see when you fall, the Cell Codex and other screens now share the new lobby's dark design
- The game runs lighter
Balance
- Gravity Cell gravity field deployment speed greatly increased
- Wall Cell rework: it moves toward incoming enemies to raise its wall faster. While the wall is up, it takes much less damage and draws attacks from nearby enemies
- Purify Cells build up purifying energy a little faster, and their cleansing zone lasts longer
Bug Fixes
- Fixed corrosion damage stacking too fast where Acid Cell pools overlapped, and lasting long after leaving them
- Fixed fonts, the lobby background or the title logo not showing properly, and the screen flashing white before the lobby appeared
v0.7.0
The lobby has a fresh new look, and a new screen lets you pick the mode you want to play.
New
- New lobby: a new animated title logo appears, and two cell swarms clash in the background. The menus are gathered in a single row along the bottom of the screen
- Pick a Battlefield: press "Enter Battle" to choose from Endless, Battle Royale, Hive Break and Custom. Each mode shows a description and your records, and you can create or join a custom room right there
Improvements
- The custom room screen has a new look. Copy and share the room code, and see the game mode and player list all on one screen
- On phones and tablets, the lobby, Pick a Battlefield and custom room screens now fit both landscape and portrait nicely
- Each cell now has a slightly different movement speed and following distance, so your swarm moves more naturally instead of clumping together
v0.6 Special Cell Expansion
v0.6.9
The Purify Cell, which clears debuffs, has arrived, and the Giant Nutrient Cell gets its own music.
New
- Purify Cell: it stores up purifying energy, and when your nucleus or cells are hit by debuffs like stuns or binds, it opens a cleansing zone that follows them. Inside it, debuffs and damage over time are cleared, and enemy freezing zones, acid pools and Sower traps are wiped away
Improvements
- Giant Nutrient Cell: in Endless, it now has its own background music, and its remaining time and HP show at the top of the screen
v0.6.8
The Husk Cell, which leaves decoy husks behind, and the Wall Cell, which blocks the way, have arrived.
New
- Husk Cell: it wears a thick outer skin and steps in front of your nucleus to take hits. When attacked, it sheds its skin and pulls back, leaving a husk behind that acts as a decoy and takes hits instead. The skin grows back over time
- Wall Cell: when enemies come close, it raises a wall in front of it. Allies can pass through, but enemies can't. It takes the wall down when enemies move away or when you rally
Improvements
- Each cell now has its own idle look. Protector, Gravity, Healer, Disruptor and Frost Cells float gently, while heavy cells like Armored and Siege Cells move with weight
- The same event comes up back to back less often in Endless
Balance
- Predator Cell growth speed from eating greatly decreased
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the music cutting out and going silent during Cluster Zone Shrink
- Fixed the arrows toward top players pointing the wrong way when spectating after being knocked out of Battle Royale
- Fixed Armored and Shell Cells passing over your nucleus when moving into position
v0.6.7
The Escort Cell, which guards your nucleus, and the sturdy Shell Cell have arrived.
New
- Escort Cell: it usually circles your nucleus slowly, but when someone attacks your nucleus, it charges horn-first and rams them. Rammed enemies are knocked far back and briefly stunned
- Shell Cell: it wears a shell that blocks several hits no matter how strong, and soaks up attacks at the very front of your swarm. Once the shell fully breaks, its soft body is exposed, and the shell hardens again once it's out of combat
Improvements
- Your own nucleus now shows in a brighter color than your swarm's cells, so it's easy to spot in the crowd
- A ripple now spreads from the spot you press to move
- Polished the Cell Codex and the lobby for easier viewing on PC
v0.6.6
Decoy Cells now dive into the thick of the enemy, and the Cell Codex gets a Control category.
Improvements
- The Cell Codex has a new Control category that groups the Frost, Decoy, Disruptor, Binder and Gravity Cells together
- The Cell Codex is now a window you can open with a button from any screen
Balance
- Decoy Cell rework: when fighting breaks out nearby, it dives into the middle of the enemy to draw their attacks. In exchange, its HP greatly decreased, and its stun when it falls also decreased
- Blade Cell damage decreased
- Acid Cell corrosion damage decreased
- When a nucleus falls, the cells that vanish with it now burst one by one and drop nutrients
- In Hive Break, when your team's colony is destroyed, the fallen special cells of living teammates also rejoin instantly
Bug Fixes
- Fixed special cells from Hive Break waves looking like basic cells
v0.6.5
The Endless event Cancer Cell Invasion floods the battlefield with cancer cells, and the Gravity Cell pulls enemies in.
New
- Cancer Cell Invasion: in Endless, cancer cells pour in from the edges of the battlefield and attack cells and nuclei alike. Whenever a cancer cell takes something down, another one spawns on the spot. In return, killing cancer cells gives plenty of nutrients
- Gravity Cell: when enemies come close, it opens a gravity field that slows enemies inside and pulls them toward the center. It doesn't attack directly
Improvements
- On your first visit, the nickname field starts empty so you can type right away. Leave it blank and a name is filled in for you
- Plasma Cell makeover: it now has a glowing plasma core with rings orbiting around it, and it's bigger too
Balance
- Binder Cells now target special cells before enemy nuclei, and their hold time slightly decreased
Bug Fixes
- Fixed lobby music playing after an Endless event ended if you had joined mid-event
- Fixed the Cell Codex beside the lobby not showing on wide PC screens
v0.6.4
The Binder Cell, which grabs enemies, and the Blade Cell, which cuts them down, have arrived.
New
- Binder Cell: it reaches out with tentacles to grab a nearby enemy nucleus or special cell and briefly holds it in place
- Blade Cell: it spins its blades to build power, then goes berserk, cutting down enemies from the closest one out. Afterward it briefly overheats, unable to attack and slowed down
Improvements
- The game runs a little lighter
Balance
- Siege Cells now follow along and set up again when your nucleus moves far away, even after setting up
v0.6.3
The Endless event Nutrient Current Bloom brings whirlpools that pull in nutrients.
New
- Nutrient Current Bloom: in Endless, whirlpools form across the battlefield and pull in nearby nutrients. They come in stages, from small whirlpools up to a giant one in the very center, and at the end of each stage the gathered nutrients burst out in all directions

- Fixed your nucleus sliding forward and snapping back while stunned

Improvements
- Basic cells now lunge forward and bite when they attack
- Cell Garden markers on the minimap now keep blinking, so they're easier to find
Balance
- Acid Cell rework: its attacks leave small acid pools that corrode everything nearby. Corrosion hurts more and wears down defense as it stacks. In exchange, it no longer lowers enemy damage and attack speed

- Assassin Cell: when you release a rally, enemy Assassin Cells targeting you are briefly revealed in red so your cells can attack them. In exchange, its HP greatly increased
- Charge and Siege Cell strength increased across the board. Charge Cells charge more often to stun more enemies, and Siege Cells set up faster and fire farther

- Catalyst Cells use their speed boost less often
v0.6.1
Hits and falling nuclei now look and feel more impactful.
Improvements
- HP bar trail: when you take damage, the lost portion lingers briefly before catching up, so you can see at a glance how much you just took
- Hits now send small fragments flying
- Slow motion: in Endless and Battle Royale, the moment your nucleus falls and the final scene of Battle Royale play briefly in slow motion
Bug Fixes

The game runs lighter, and Cluster Zone Shrink in Endless has become fiercer.
Improvements
- The game runs lighter and smoother

- Fixed some special cell attacks and debuffs affecting teammates in Hive Break
v0.5 Endless Events

- Fixed the special cell picker being dragged along with the finger moving the joystick
v0.4.8

New
- Breeder Cell: it never fights directly but keeps producing basic cells. Even with a full swarm it slowly produces past the limit, and it flees when enemies come close
- Charge Cell: it targets an enemy nucleus, shows its path in advance, then charges in a straight line. It shoves aside enemies in its way and briefly stuns any nucleus it hits, but takes extra damage while worn out right after a charge
- Rally marker: a marker appears above the name of any nucleus that's rallying, so you can see at a glance who is gathering their cells
Improvements
- The tutorial now covers Cell Gardens and the Endless, Battle Royale and Hive Break modes

- Taking down a player on a kill streak spills far more nutrients
- Colony counterattack: in Hive Break, nutrients pour out where a colony falls. The team that lost it gets its fallen teammates back instantly with a brief speed boost, and its hive sends special cell reinforcements down that lane

Bug Fixes
- Fixed the nutrient absorb effect showing in the wrong color or position
- Fixed the app install guide appearing even when already running as an app

- In Hive Break, you respawn at your hive as many times as you need when you fall
